JOB TITLE: TRADE OPERATIONS & COMPLIANCE MANAGER (EMEA)
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Your key responsibilities will be:
Act as a key member of the Trade Compliance team focused on the EMEA region.
Lead the operational management of trade compliance processes including valuation, classification, origin, export controls, and restricted party screenings.
Own and manage customs compliance for imports and exports across multiple material categories—DS, DP, APIs, machinery, clinical, lab equipment, and consumables.
Manage projects and tasks both independently and in collaboration with internal stakeholders or external vendors.
Provide strategic technical advice on customs topics such as Special Procedures, classification, valuation, and preferential origin.
Your responsibilities will also include:
Maintain accurate and audit-ready records of import/export transactions in compliance with local regulations.
Build strong collaborative relationships with Logistics, Materials Planning, Legal, and Tax Teams across the EMEA region.
Provide performance metrics and dashboards for trade operations and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Coordinate and lead trade compliance audits and implement mitigation actions where necessary.
Oversee and strengthen the relationship with customs brokers ensuring consistency and compliance.
Support the implementation of standardized, digitized, and integrated procedures to reduce risk and increase operational efficiency.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, International Business) or equivalent experience in place of a degree
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 8 year of work experience, including at least 4 years of experience in a compliance, legal, auditing or investigation role in life sciences, preferably in the biotechnology, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical industries.
Strong operational knowledge and experience in import and export compliance polices and audit procedures.
Experience and knowledge of bonded warehouses, special regimens and 3PLs
Knowledge of GDPR
Knowledge is SAP GTS and SAP Fiori
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications with a focus on Excel
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
CONDITIONS:
Type of contract: Temporary (12 months). ETT
Location: Madrid
Modality: Hybrid (30% telework)
Working hours: Full. 40 hours/week (M-F)
Salary: According to value
